"These are exciting times for Eyiwunmi Laseinde and Angela Ton. The two seniors earned top academic honors at Weston Ranch High. Laseinde, who has a 4.31 grade point average, was named valedictorian. The salutatorian Ton finished with a 4.30 GPA. They are among the 270-plus seniors receiving their diplomas this year during the commencement exercises at WRHS Stadium. “I’m nervous and excited,” said Laseide, who, along with Ton, will provide parting words in the form of her graduation speech. Not that she’s uncomfortable speaking in front of an audience. The daughter of Bosede and Rasheed Babalola, Laseinde was involved in Show Choir, performing recently in the Drama Department production of “Seussical the Musical.” She was also involved in HOSA-Future Health Professionals – formerly known as Health Occupation Students of America – Key Club and JROTC. “What I’ll miss most about high school is being able to do everything, from campus clubs to other activities,” said Laseinde, who will be attending the University of California, Berkeley in the fall. She plans to major in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology, with dreams of becoming of cardiologist."
